Mai is the vice president of the athletics club. She admires Tsukushi and wants to be her successor, therefore making her hostile toward Yōto, who is another candidate for the next club president. Her personality is cold and harsh, which makes her isolated from the others. She is actually jealous of Yōto who can easily make friends with the others, and two form a platonic friendship. It is hinted that she is more perverted than Yōto. She is the only one of Yōto's classmates who notices that Tsukiko, Azusa, and Tsukushi have all fallen in love with Yōto.
