Gyokuen Ren is the wife of the former Emperor of the Kou Empire.

SpoilerShe assumes the throne after the death of her husband claiming it would leave Kouen, who was supposed to succeed his father able to focus his efforts to lead the army on the conquest of the other nations. Just like Judar, she works behind the scenes at Al Thamen's behest.
