Satoshi

Japanese name:	サトシ
Nickname:	Ash Ketchum

Ash is a 10-year-old fictional character and one of the main protagonists from the Pokémon anime. His dream is to become the greatest Pokémon Master in the world. There are also incarnations of him in a plethora of manga adaptations, of which include The Electric Tale of Pikachu, Pocket Monsters Zensho, and Ash & Pikachu. He is loosely based on Red, the protagonist of the games Pokémon Red and Blue. The family name "Ketchum" is a pun on the franchise's former tagline and slogan, "Gotta catch 'em all"! His current team consists of Pikachu, Staraptor, Torterra, Infernape, Buizel and Gible. At Professor Oak's lab he has Bulbasaur, Kingler, Muk, 30 Tauros, Snorlax, Heracross, Bayleef, Quilava, Totodile, Noctowl, Donphan, Swellow, Sceptile, Corphish, Torkoal and Glalie. He also has Primeape, Charizard, Squirtle and Gliscor in private training and can use them whenever he wants. Ash now qualifies for the Sinnoh League.At the start of the series,he was 10 years old.
