Mari is Keima's mother. While looking like a typical shōjo manga-style mother who is optimistic, ditsy, and loving; she has another side to her that Keima is afraid of as whenever she gets angry, she removes her glasses and lets her hair down and becomes very violent and speaks like a biker punk as she used to be part of a biker gang. While she loves her son, she is constantly worried about his future.

She also adores Elsie and treats her like he own daughter despite the latter supposedly being her husband's "illegitimate child". She also runs a small cafe from her home called "Cafe Grandpa". She also rides a Ducati 1098 which she still maintains at home.
