Bell Cranel is the main male protagonist of DanMachi. He is an aspiring adventurer in the goddess Hestia's familia. After he <Level Up> to Lv.2 he received the title <Little Rookie>.

Bell is a kind yet shy boy and is easily intimidated when facing a stronger opponent. He cares deeply for the people around him especially his god Hestia since she is his only family after his grandfather's death. Though it is a good trait, he is often scolded by people around him for his trusting nature.

SpoilerIt was revealed that his grandfather is the God Zeus, however, they are not related by blood and Bell is the adopted grandson. Zeus' Familia was wiped out by a black dragon, and it is speculated that Bell's parents were among them. Bell is considered the last hero of Zeus' Familia.
