The Anti-Spiral is the ultimate antagonist of Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann, and the central antagonistic presence for the final two story arcs. He is both the leader and collective mental manifestation of the The Anti-Spiral Race, a mysterious group of beings that long ago realized the danger of Spiral Nemesis. In order to combat it, they found the means to halt their own evolution by purging themselves of Spiral Power, trapping themselves in a state of suspended animation as their collective consciousness took form to purge the universe of all Spiral Life.
