Otakon 2011 Figure Report - Kagami

Otakon 2011 Figure Report - Kagami
14 Aug 2011 04:38:57

It took me almost two weeks to get here, but I'm finally there. My series of blog posts about Otakon is finally coming to a close. Bringing this series to an end, here's the Saitama Shinbun 65th Anniversary version Nendoroid of Kagami from Lucky Star.

Sales Data:
Dealer Where the Figure Got Purchased: ToysLogic
Purchase Price: $90

When it came to Nendoroids, I did plan to pick up one at the convention. However, my original plan was to pick up one of Fate from Nanoha. While looking around Friday for dealers that may sell the Nendoroid (and their prices), I noticed one dealer with the Fate Nendoroid had the Lucky Star Nendoroids as well. Originally, I decided to pass on them, since the ones that the dealer had were of Kagami and Miyuki (with me preferring Konata, Tsukasa, and, if Good Smile does make on in the future, Yutaka). However, one thought did occur to me sometime later: what if the Nendoroid figures were the versions that had them sporting animal features? Hence, I checked back on Saturday to see if they had them. Sure enough, while Miyuki was the normal version, Kagami on the other hand had the bunny ears. Hence, my plans to pick up a Nendoroid at Otakon was changed from Fate to Kagami.

Interestingly enough, the person who I bought the Kagami Nendoroid from was also into Busou Shinki, with him asking where I picked up the Maochao figure (and me coming back to the booth later after I bought Maryceles).

Getting back on subject (as I have plenty of time to talk about Busou Shinki later), here's my photos of Kagami.

Starting things off is my main pose for Kagami. Personally, I definitely preferred the default for her, as, whereas the other facial expressions are looks of frustration, this look is more of an embarrassed look, which is more "moe" than Kagami's regular attitude (especially given her sporting bunny ears).

This is it. This is the money shot when it comes to the "figure report" pictures that I took of my Otakon purchases.

Basically, seeing how one of facial expressions involves Kagami sporting a sweat drop, I knew I had to include something in this picture that would cause her to do this. However, since I couldn't find any Full Metal Panic shounen-ai pics (anyone who has seen Lucky Star will know what I'm getting at here), I instead decided to have Kagami see a shoujo-ai pic of herself and Konata.

Rounding out the poses for Kagami is one involving her sitting on the chair that was included with the figure. BTW, I had no idea about the "fanservice" until I uploaded the picture onto here.

Just like my Busou Shinki figures, I also felt it was high time to move my Nendoroids in order to have more room to display them. For now, the figures are on the other sides of my dresser drawer.

Of course, this display can't be complete without a 3D picture.

With that, my series of Otakon reports have come to an end. Now, I can relax while I wait for... *doorbell*

Never mind, while I'm finally done with Otakon, I still have some more figure coverage to do.
