JLPT 2009

JLPT 2009
06 Dec 2009 15:42:53

Did you enjoy your weekend?

I spent it refreshing my knowledge before Japanese Language Proficiency Test (日本語能力試験, Nihongo Nōryoku Shiken). Level 3 here! And finally, it is over. Yokatta... (that is nice...) Although I feel a little depressed :( I'm not satisfied with my work :(

I think my words sounds kinda strange - I do study Japanese at University after all. The problem is that University program has almost nothing to do with Nōryoku Shiken. Roughly speaking my level is somewhere between 3 and 2 kyuu. We were taught much more kanji, some specific vocabulary and some difficult grammar structures. But talking about JLPT Level 3 - more simple, but unknown to me words and structures can appear from time to time. I felt pretty comfortable doing previous years tests, but the one they prepared for us this time - oh! What a pity! I also couldn't concentrate during Listening part for some reason.

So I think I should pass it but marks won't be outstanding. If any of you also participated in JLPT 2009, I hope you did better than I. Ah, congratulations anyway!

Here is how your diploma will look... if you pass :) Actually it's mine, Level 4. it doesn't belong to the surroundings, I just placed it here to take a pic.

I took Level 4 after studying Japanese for 3-4 months. Oh, I'm much more proud for it than for Level 3.

Saber approves :)

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (日本語能力試験 Nihongo Nōryoku Shiken), or JLPT, is a standardized criterion-referenced test to evaluate and certify the Japanese language proficiency of non-native speakers. It is held twice a year in East Asia and once a year in other regions. The JLPT has four levels, with Level 4 the most basic and Level 1 the most difficult. The Japan Foundation estimates that approximately 150 hours of study are necessary to pass the Level 4 exam and 900 hours of study are required to pass the Level 1 test, although the figures may be significantly higher for native English speakers. In 2008, the Japanese government announced a plan under consideration to use the JLPT to screen applicants for long-term and permanent resident visas. The test is held on the first Sunday of December each year.

After exam my friend mospehraict presented to me a November volume of Megami Magazine and I forgot about my 'bad luck' straight away.

I worship Mahoromatic! ^_^

Spooky Saber on the other side.

Wow! An idea for my future Mio shrine!

Unsen ni ikou?

Great work, imho. But who is that girl?

Even a figurines page. Hmmm...

Lovely present! and pretty useful... Aaah! I need more practice! I gonna be brilliant next time!

P.S.: sorry for dark pics, I live in the twilight, you know.

Yep, this year exam was not so easy as I thought, I guess I won't fail, but I'm sure I made a lot of stupid mistakes.

Well, considering that I haven't been to my Japanese classes for about several weeks, it's still not so bad :)

Glory, glad you liked the magazine :)

You know I have my Japanese class an Japan foundation Moscow. But since this week its not all. I'm taking a private tuition from my friend, who studies Japanese for 4 or 5 years. I now see my goal - I want to take Nōryoku Shiken level 3 next year! Ganbarimasu!
I'm too old for this shit, ain't I?

I'm kinda envious that you've even mustered enough effort to take the test... I'll probably laze off as quickly as I start. My hatred for language-related things knows no bounds (maybe because I'm an engineer :D).
