I was tempted at first, but the more I hear about it, the more it seems like Son'y trying to make it fail. Let's see...

-Battery life has been estimated at 1-2 hours, and the entire unit is sealed, meaning that you can't replace the battery with a more efficient one, nor can you replace it if the battery dies.
-The price tag, according to Sony, is going to be somewhere around (to quote their iconic speech) FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY-NINE US DOLLARS. Giant enemy crab not included.
-The launch lineup so far is just a bunch of watered-down versions of PS3 games.
-While it's technically backwards-compatible, it has no UMD slot, so you'll have to re-buy any PSP UMD games you have that you want to play on the new unit.

As much as I like my original PSP, this one just has so much going against it...

considering how many imported UMD media PSP games I'm buying I am not looking into upgrading any time soon, especially to a device that won't support them. I'll stick to my 1st Gen PSP

It's a wait and see when it comes to whether I'll pick it up on day one or wait until the price goes down. Here's hoping for a decent price so that way I can put it on my Xmas list.
