Rinkai!

Summary:

Note: Rinkai! is a mixed-media project about women's keirin cycling created by Mixi. Every character is a cyclist each representative from a different Japanese prefecture, associated with a specific velodrome situated there. Each character's surname shares in turn the name of the city which is home to such velodrome.

The story centers on the sport of women's cycling, which debuted in Japan shortly after World War II. However, organized competitions folded after just 15 years and laid dormant for several decades. Then the Rinkai! League launched to revive the sport.
Izumi Itou is a high school girl who loves cycling. After witnessing a race in which the best female bicycle racers compete against each other, Izumi vows to become a bicycle racer with her friends. It is not a glamorous world, but a place that is brutally honest and harsh. Then, she meets her destined rival - the genius Nana Hiratsuka.
