Leif is cheerful old man from Greenland. A sailor, he claims to have travelled to a distant western land called Vinland. When Thorfinn joins Askeladd's band and is assumed dead by the other Icelanders, Leif does not give up hope and devotes his life to finding him. He is based off of the historical Leif Erikson.
