Makoto Isshiki is the first friend Yuuta Togashi ever made in high school. He is friendly and sitted behind Yuuta. Similarly to Yuuta, he hardly known anyone in their class at first. He often making profiles of other girls in the class. He later joins the Light Music Club to get attentions from girls until he met Kumin Tsuyuri. He bought a new red electric guitar but barely know how to play it. Later on, he decides to leave the club but his seniors don't approve it.

When Makoto is in junior high, he is bald because of baseball crew cut. He doesn’t like bald head because it makes him looks like a grade schooler. Unfortunately, his father turned bald at the age of 35 and he inherit his father’s genes. Judging from the genes, he just left barely 20 years with hair. Makoto was caught in the act of having a poll on the “Cutest girl in the class” and he accepted the punishment like a man and cut his hair bald.
