Masaru is Akira's fellow psychic test subject. He exhibit a variety of paranormal powers which he use to influence the course of events to the best of his ability. While individually of lesser strength than Akira or Tetsuo, his combined effort proves decisive in the story's final confrontation. Physically, he resemble child with wrinkled face, white hair and blue-green skin.

Masaru is physically confined either to a wheelchair or a special floating chair. He has the power to use psychokinesis.
