Haunted by the fragmented memories of her early past on Corsica; a mysterious E-mail playing a haunting melody brings Mireille to Japan in search of its sender. Upon her fated meeting with the silent, but formidable Kirika Yuumura, Mireille takes up the mousy young Japanese girl's request to "go on a pilgrimage to the past" with her, with certain conditions put in to place at the end of their journey.
Returning to Paris with Kirika under the pretext of helping the young amnesiac learn of her mysterious origin, as well as attempting to unlock the secrets buried in her own obscure past; the duo take up the mantle of "Noir" without knowledge as to the true implications behind Noir's dark history.
Mireille's weapon of choice is the Walther P-99 chambered in 9mm, which was designed to fit the needs of the German police force's pistol specifications in the mid-90's. Mireille utilizes the Walther's high-capacity magazine and striker-fired action to its full extent while in the field- allowing for maximum effectiveness in situations calling for the demise of multiple targets.
