The main protagonist in Tales of Zestiria. He has a kind heart, an honest expression, and a positive outlook. He lives in a village where humans and the Divine live together. Unlike most humans, Slay can see the Divine, and he is childhood friends with a Divine of Water, Mikulio. As a child, he came into the possession of a book called The Divine Records, and from that point, he has had a fascination with ancient ruins. Slay enters into a contract with Lyla to become a priest.
During the Japan Expo 2014, when a English-subtitled trailer was shown, Slay's named was localized as Sorey.
