Feitan is the Phantom Troupe's interrogator, being very proficient in the art of torture. He is extremely cold natured, but he is also shown to be very loyal to Chrollo. Feitan seems to work best with Phinks, as he seems to get along very well with him and is often paired with him during battles.

Feitan's first language is Chinese; he speaks inverted in Japanese when angered. It is shown in the manga that his speech usually consists of few words and poor grammar.

Despite being a sadistic interrogator, he seem to have a sympathetic side to his interrogated victims, if he finds out that they died after telling him all the information they know. This can be seen when a mafia he interrogated and executed afterwards didn't tell him about the involvement of the Shadow Beast Owl regarding the missing auction items, because the former are unaware of it.
