History
History
Earning the nickname "Baron" due to his highly affected and theatrical appearance and behaviour, Wallace Warwick earned fame as an Alliance hero during his time serving under fellow admiral Bruce Ashbey. Alongside Ashbey and their fellow Year 730 Mafia member, the Alliance won many important military victories against the Galactic Empire in the middle-years of the Alliance–Imperial War. During the Second Battle of Tiamat, Warwick led his fleets well, helping to completely rout in the Imperial forces in what would become of the the greatest Alliance victories in the Alliance–Imperial War. Unfortunately, the battle also saw the death of Bruce Asbhey, the leader of the 730 Mafia. With Ashbey dead, the Alliance forces were unable to effectively maintain the same amount of military pressure against the Empire and thus, despite their victory at Tiamat, the war continued in a strategic stalemate.
After the break-up of the Year 730 Mafia in 745 UC, Wallace Warwick continued to serve on the front lines as a battlefield commander. He was promoted to the rank of full admiral in 749 UC, and became the Chief Commander of the Free Planets Star Fleet in 751 UC. For the next two years, the FPA–Imperial War saw no major battles, and Warwick was able to retire in 753 UC at the age of 43. At the same time, he was also given the military rank of Fleet Admiral. The following year (754 UC) Warwick returned to his home city of Palas, on Heinessen, where he became the president of a prestigious university.
In 757 UC, Wallace Warwick ran for a seat on the local council, and for the next 3 years served as a politician. In 760 UC he moved to the Alliance capital city, Heinessenopolis, and quickly became the chairman of the National Defence Committee and a member of the High Council.
Ultimately, Warwick's political career was short-lived. Though he, himself was never directly involved in any criminal activities, graft was uncovered within his National Defence Committee, which forced Warwick to resign from office by means of apology. That, coupled with the death of his lover due to a drug overdose, caused Warwick's popularity with the citizens of the Alliance to collapse. Warwick withdrew from the world, retiring back to Palas where he eventually died of a heart attack in 766 UC, at the age of 56.
Personality
Personality
Also known as "Baron," Wallace Warwick was, of course, a citizen of the Alliance and not an aristocrat. He was called "Baron" only because of his appearance and behaviour were somewhat affected and theatrical. His nickname had a satirical meaning of "No matter how much he tries, he can't be a Count or Earl," but despite knowing it, he prided himself on the nickname and always added to his name when he had to introduce himself. Though Warwick may not have been a genius, he was a competent commander and indispensable to Ashbey. With his soft blond hair, his eyes of the same colour, and medium build, he was well liked by women, and he, too, liked women very much. Especially beautiful young women with well-proportioned teeth. Outside the military he had many talents, such as card fortune telling and dancing. He played the guitar and the trumpet, played chess, darts, skied, and, of course, had many loves, providing his life with many adventures. In everything he did, he could become one step short of a master. Was Warwick concealing his true self? He was a professional military officer, but perhaps because he was a professional, he was swallowing the bitter truth with a medicinal wafer of "humour." When he graduated from the military academy, he was 7th. Bruce Ashbey was always ahead of him. In order to deal with his complex feelings, perhaps he needed some humour.
