Japanese name: |
フェリックス・ミッターマイヤー |
the adopted son of Wolfgang Mittermeyer and Evangelin Mittermeyer.
spoilerHis actual father Oskar von Reuenthal had been secretly having an sensual relationship with Elfriede von Kohlrausch who's great-uncle was former Prime Minister Klaus von Lichtenlade, a man forced to commit scuicide for allegedly plotting to kill then Marquis Reinhard Von Lohengramm. Their relationship produced a baby boy, who was only revealed to Reuenthal hours before his death. After Elfriede escaped, Reuenthal ordered that his son be given to his best friend Mittermeyer, knowing that he and his wife Evangelin had been trying to have children to no avail. Evangelin accepted the baby when Wolfgang returned to her and chose the name Felix for the child. At the end of the series, Felix is brought in to see the Kaiser on his deathbed. Reinhard expresses his wishes that Felix be a good friend to his own son Alexander Siegfried von Lohengramm before his death. After the Kaiser dies, Wolfgang is holding Felix under the stars. Felix begins reaching for them mirroring a gesture that Reinhard iconically used. To this Wolfgang says, "You too Felix?", possibly implying that Felix is the next great ambitious figure for the Empire. That his biological father chose to rather take his chances and rebel to try and conquer the galaxy for himself rather than submit to another inquiry also suggests that Felix would have held natural ambition to rule.
