Grillpalzer is first seen along with Admiral Lennenkampf during the Ninth Battle of Iserlohn, however, his role in this battle was relatively minuscule.
His first major battle would come at the Battle of Marr-Adetta, unfortunately his lack of experience shown through as his fleet was crushed by the asteroids in the star system, and he was forced to retreat.
After the Uruvasi incident, he was sent by Oskar von Reuenthal to Uruvasi to investigate. He did find evidence that pointed to the whole incident was plotted by Terraists, however he decided to conceal it, and thus the rebellion took place.
Before the Rebellion, he met with Knappstein to devise a plan to betray Reuenthal in the heat of the battle, so that they could hopefully get the Kaiser's attention as being heroes of this battle and advance their careers.
However, when the battle began, disaster struck, as Knappstein was obliterated by Wolfgang Mittermeyer's fleet, and Grillpalzer found himself stuck in a predicament as to whether or not he would change sides. He could not find an opportunity to switch sides during the battle and was forced to defend himself against Mittermeyer's attack, but was rescued by Reuenthal's intervention. Reuenthal's forces then retreated in good order from the battlefield with Mittermeyer's ships in pursuit.
When Reuenthal prepared to turn around to re-engage Mittermeyer, Grillpalzer took advantage of the opening and ordered his ships to open fire on Reuenthal's forces. During the confused infighting that followed, one of Grillpalzer's ships fired and hit Reuenthal's flagship Tristan, mortally wounding Reuenthal.
After the battle, Grillpalzer was interrogated by Ernest Mecklinger, and was charged with concealing evidence, mutiny and murder. He was stripped of his admiralty and presumably executed.
