Giving revoltech Annelotte some new joints

Hello there folks;

I've owned revoltech queen's blade Annelotte for awhile, but I always found revoltech joints to be somewhat difficult to work with or to get the exact poses for poseable figures. So, today in this blog I would like to share which joints I used to replace some of the revoltech joints for my revoltech Annelotte.

So first off I got bought some of hobby base's Premium Parts Collection: ball joint light flesh color; ball joints. I replaced revoltech Annelotte's torso joint, neck joint, and both of her upper thigh/leg joints.

To be fair I do not mind revoltech joints, just not on human figures, I cannot pose figures using revoltech joints precisely as figmas or figuarts can.

The photo above features the joints: left is the hobby base ball joints unassembled; revoltech joints on the right, still inserted in the legs and torso.

I should admit the pegs for hobby base joints are a bit shorter compared to revoltech joints, so hobby base joints are easier to pull out.

After putting together the joints and replacing them, Annelotte is capable of smoother poses or at least easier to put her into poses.

Overall hobby base's premium parts collection: ball joints come in 4 different sizes, relatively cheap. Another note these joints come in a variety of colors, useful for replacing most joints, or adding joints to something.

Well last year Bluefin Tamashii Nations USA held a DEC 2011 Photo contest; sadly I did not win.

I was hoping the Bluefin Tamashii folks would at least tell us they were judging by categories or if photo-shopping was allowed or not. Nonetheless, I just wanted to share what I entered into the contest...

Also we could only take photos of just Tamashii nation products, so I could not throw in a figma into the photo like the one below. :[

Annelotte used CUT !!

Somewhat delayed X-mas present, nonetheless, I got the expensive figma Miku.

Okay few things about figma racing Miku, the is not included in the box, but rather it's packed in another bag, so make sure to look carefully for it if you bought figma expensive Miku.

As for the stuff she comes with....

Now as for the figure and accessories...

the Pros:
1. Looks fantastic, sleek, elegant, and has good facial expressions
2. surprisingly good poseability and balance; a big step up when comparing to the original figma Miku
3. accessory count, of 2 trophies, umbrella (both opened and folded up), lap/scoreboard.

the Cons:
1. For the price it's worth, it has some shoddy quality control (I really really hope it's just mine)
2. swapping facial expressions is a bit too easy, as in the hair piece kind of falls off easily
3. lacks a true waist swivel/joint like the original figma Miku, however, does have a upperbody swivel/joint.

Despite the flaws, I still find this figure amazing. I like the semi-transparent touch at the ends of her hair as well.

Important end note: the numbers that you insert into the score/lapboard can be find inside the box, it's underneath the usual cardboard you would use to cover a di:stage.

Final thoughts: If you want the best poseable Miku, this is probably the closest thing to it. I would only suggest it if you are willing to spend that much cash on it, with a chance that it might have shoddy paintjob, etc. It's really the chance of QC issues that prevents me from having full faith in recommending this figma to others.
