Buying figmas for accessories ><

Buying figmas for accessories ><
17 Jul 2010 21:15:13

There are some clever guys sitting in a Max Factory marketing department^^

At first they did a great job turning the anime/game – figures routine inside out. Rather then stick with making figures from anime they’re now making a (free distributed) anime out of figures – I mean Black Rock Shooter.

It’s really clever, because even with our modern technologies no one found a way to distribute PVC figures via torrents or file hosting services^__^

Then this game Se.Kirara. It is the same thing – game is distributed for free, but merchandise is certainly not. Now I’m coming to the heart of the matter.

Normally, a school girl from eroge is not what I want in PVC. But MF marketing made me preorder Aya Kagura and Nozomi Akiyama (and I’m truly sorry I missed Kawamura Yu!)

Why? Because of the accessories they are bundled with! I can’t pass through a figma go board without thinking how I’ll make a go match between Yuki Nagato figma and, say, Saber figma.

And I’ll just cope with the generic mysterious transfer student Nozomi Akiyama^^

Same with Aya. She comes with a violin (*I’ll make Haruhi, or Shana, or Tsumugi, or whoever play it) an with a pack of cuuuute cats (how many scenes I can make with these!!)

I’ll just put the blond babe aside^^

The third one that I missed came with a kitchen ware and a PVC apron. Hope I’ll get her somehow in the future to make figma Haruhi prepare a good dinner for poor Kyon (or make Saber do it for Shiro^^).

In the end I should do justice to the se.Kirara girls. They’re cute. On second thought maybe I won’t put them aside^^

I like this line as well The girls are a bit generic but cute and all of those accessories are awesome. Aya is my favorite she has the most personality to her design and i like her accessories the best.

I just hope Yu will be easy to find after she is released as i missed out on pre ordering her.

For me Aya shares the first place with local Yuki Nagato, Nozomi.

I also thought of switching heads. This fantasy school uniform will fit figma Saber, or Haruhi^^

I've been tempted to pick up Aya. Not only does she have THOSE CATS, she'd also make a pretty good base for a custom Utsho Reiuzi (Touhou).

LOL seems to be the main reason everyone is ordering the Se:Kirara figmas, I was able to get Yuu on preorder but not Aya, I'm hoping to get Aya later in the winter since summer and fall is a bit spending heavy right now. Onore 2010!

I'm not the only one going crazy about accessories, eh?.. ^_^
And it bring us back to the statement that MF marketing department employees are geniuses^^

They also knew that se.kirara girls are a bit generic to be selling really well, so they threw in cool accessories to make them sell better^__^

I guess I like Aya best too. If Nozomi (she is local Yuki Nagato, I suppose) had short hair, she would've been my favorite.

I even made an attempt to obtain Morning Coffee ver. of Aya, but I missed the preorder for day or two >_<

There's this one on Mandarake:
http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-333970.html

With Mandarake's fee and shipping it'd probably end up at around 7,000 yen though, more if you go EMS or DHL.
I've considered getting her several times over but I just have too many others on the way... MF's delays till August has really got me miffed since it's five figmas all in one month. I did order a Figma Witch Yuki through mandarake though since I have been wanting her for some time now.

Oh, thank you so much ~^______^~! Ebay sellers offer her for min 100$!
I heard that Mandarake is a good thing when you want something rare, but whenever I visited the site I was a bit confused by navigation or something, so I browsed away.
But, really, who cares about navigation when you can get something you want!

Yea, I know how it happens. One month I bought all I planned (with delayed items), then did some math and were horrified by a sum of ~550$! After that I started doing math before I buy.

I love the accessories, but so far, the characters seem to be just generic eroge archetypes (the mysterious transfer student, the rambunctious loli, the Rei-clone, etc.). I'm probably just gonna stick with Re-Ments for most of my Figma accessories.

Also, LEGO accessories do actually fit in Figma hands.

I've got some great Re:ment things (minna no gohan, big box with 20 packs of assorted food, and kotatsu) and they are perfect with my 1/6 RAH Action figure. They're bit too big for ~1/12 figmas.

Never tried lego^_^

There's also the Nendoroid playsets - the rooms are big enough to work with Figmas.

I have them all (music room is on its way for me), and little accessories - yes, usually they work. But walls are a bit short for figmas T_T

I just feel that if you're gonna spend $25 + shipping on a Figma, you may as well get a character you like rather than a generic moeblob. There are a ton of iconic characters in the Figma line, from classics like Urusei Yatsura's Lum and Evangelion's Rei and Asuka to modern hits like Haruhi Suzumiya and Fate/stay night's Saber. So why buy a figure of someone who has no notable traits other than cuteness?

That's just my two cents.

Cuteness is the main factor for me, so i'd rather buy a cute unknown girl than a popular character that i don't like (and if the figure of a character i like doesn't look cute for me i would prefer an unknown cutie too), and figmas don't have any anime characters i like except some k-on girls and BRS.
