Yoko Real Image Ver

Yoko Real Image Ver
05 Apr 2010 22:38:12

Hello Everyone! I haven't been very active lately. Sorry. Still adjusting to my new home and actually having friends in the area. It's been nice and I'll see about making a new general personal post about how I've been later, but for now I have a little photo review of my newest figure, Yoko Real Image Ver from Gurren Lagann. Sorry for the pictures not being as high quality as my other figure pictures. I don't have access to a good camera anymore so these were taken with a cheap digital camera which is nearly 10 years old. Hopefully the natural outdoor light makes up for the quality a bit.

I think the New Mexico desert ground fits Yoko very well since it's similar to the landscape in early episodes of the series:

And a little closer up:

I really like this figure. I debated for a while on which Yoko I would purchase and I'm glad I picked this one. I really like the pose, the detail is nice, and I think she looks really cool in the more realistic art style. Personally I like how she looks more without the changeable hair piece which includes her orange sun glasses, but I thought since we're taking pictures outside it would be appropriate to put the shades on:

And now for my usual circling around the figure to get all the different angles:

Oh, please ignore the little Ziploc bag in this next picture. I use them to keep alternate figure pieces in and it kind of got away from me without noticing:

She has some pretty nice shoulder blades and the gun is pretty cool, too:

Her hair is pretty nice and dynamic as well:

And a more close up picture of her with the shades on:

And here she is displayed on my shelf. She looks a little weird next to Rakka, but that's how the alphabetization fell:

And finally a couple of nice, yet fuzzy, close up pictures of her face:

That's all for now. Hopefully I'll be employed again soon and will be able to afford a better digital camera. So until next time, enjoy the pictures!

She looks nice I'm very tempted to get one. Although the fact that she looks better without her glasses is a bit disappointing (I like her with glasses look best). I'll just use the fact that i already have alot of Yoko figures as an excuse not to get her.

Well I don't know. When I said I like her better without her glasses, it was more of a personal preference. I was never a big fan of her sunglasses in the series. As for the figure, I think she looks fine with the glasses, just as much as she does in the show, I'd just really hate to cover up her pretty eyes.

And again - welcome back, plu! There something missing when you're not around *^___^*

Wow! It's very unusual, but she looks much better then her on prototype photos I've seen. Especially her face, it's gorgeous.
Pose is fine too, but is she leaning a bit on the right side? This stance seems a little unbalanced.
I'm too old for this shit, ain't I?

Yeah, the pose does look a little unrealistic, like if she was an actual person she should just fall over. But I think it still works. ^_^

Sugoi, she looks great on this desert ground! :) BTW, I can't remember visiting that kind of land myself... No, I've never stood on such desert ground o__O ..And I should agree with Usagi - I thought that the figurine is less impressive. You managed to get a brilliant :)

Thanks. I'd never been to a desert area either until the Air Force sent me here. It's a lot nicer than I would have thought. Some of it's really pretty, but I do start to miss greenery after a while. XD

Wow! Yoko in the 'desert' looks so natural. Especially if you do not pay attention to the base :)

Oh, now you make me want to try to somehow make her stand on the ground without her base.... Maybe I can get some kind of long metal rod to stick in the ground?? Hmmm, I think I'll wait until I have a better camera before I put much more thought into it. Not really worth the trouble unless I can take really awesome pictures of it. ^_^"
