I was wondering If anyone knows of any good Visual Novels that are available to play in English. Non hentai would be preferred but I wouldn't mind H-scenes in them if they aren't the main focus of the game.

Vallefor recommended Tsukihime so I have downloaded that. (and fate/stay night)

Other VN's I have played (that I can remember) include The Ace Attorney series and a few hentai ones (witch gave me an overall negative impression of VN's)

(please note I only used a steins;gate picture because it is VN related I do not know if there is an English translation or not)

I believe there is a Stein's Gate visual novel that has been translated now, I'll post again once I've found the translator's website.

DOWNLOAD LINK HERE

1) Download Steins;gate from the included .torrent, if you haven't already.
2) Install it. (Make sure your locale is set to Japanese before you start installing!)
2a) See http://www.mediafire.com/i/?1366edv50su2kfb for help changing your locale to Japanese.

3) Extract and run SgUpdate120.exe. (Run it as admin if you're on Windows Vista/7)
Type in C:Program FilesNitroplusSTEINS;GATE for the directory.

4) Disregard the included nss.npa and STEINSGATE.exe and download them from http://www.mediafire.com/lateststeinsgate . Extract these to the same directory, overwriting everything.
4a) Keep in mind that these are constantly updated to prevent crashes, and using a new nss.npa will most likely make your old save unplayable. There is a save in 1.200.rar, extract it to: C:/Users/Username/yours_here/AppData/Roaming/Nitroplus/STEINS;GATE
. It will be on the last page, in block 80.

5) Move the rest of the files to your install directory, overwriting everything. (C:Program FilesNitroplusSTEINS;GATE by default).

6) Use STEINSGATE.exe to start it. Press f if you want to play fullscreen.
7) Enjoy folks! ;]

I wanted ask if you set your system local to Japan? Also did you extract the file into your Stein's Gate folder that you downloaded from dll-files.com?

I did bolth but should I have the SG folder in a certain location? And should I have downloaded anything that wasn't part of the download link you sent as you'r first step mentions a torrent?

Hmmm, I'm sorry I'm not quite sure, I'll try talking to some folks who got it to work. Perhaps they could help me figure out what is wrong, I apologize, but for the mean time just take it easy.

your steins;gate folder should look something like this, in exception of the filepath because i'm a cool kid who organizes his vns.

That download link he posted doesn't have the full game, you need to download that elsewhere, it should be really easy to find. All together the game is about ~3GB, it's kinda huge.

Anny torrent you recommend? I downloaded one and it wouldn't get past the start screen, then I ended up messing it up and it wouldn't work at all.

(I uninstalled and deleted everything after it stopped working)

I managed to get it working now however it only lets me lode saves is it possible to start a new game?

(also I get runtime errors very quickly)

I could be wrong, but I think you need runtime for dx9, which is what the VN uses.

(I'm not sure if you are the best person to post errors to but)

I'm getting 3 different errors. Loading a game like the tutorial suggests gets a runtime error after a few pages of text. If I do a quick load I don't get an error but the text is just dots. And the final error is picking new game just sends me to the title screen again.

Did you play Ever17 -the out of infinity-?
It`s non hentai and great vn, in my opinion:3
And you also can play visual novels made by Nitro+
Chaos;Head, for example.
And i advice you my favourite visual novel-Narcissu. It`s very short, but wonderful for me.
So, there are a lot of visual novels on english, wich have few hentai scenes or don`t have it at all.

You can fight like a Krogan, run like a leopard
But you'll never be better than Commander Shepard!

Visual Novel in english? You can play Katawa Shoujo.
You can disable NSFW scenes in Options there.

This signature needs to be about 20% cooler.

Kanon - all age or 18+
Ever17, Remember11 - all age, same universe (also never7 and riven12, but they non-translated AFAIK)
Little busters! - all age
ef - a fairy tale of the two - 18+
Planetarian - all age, not novel, just short story without any choices but anyway its good.
Chain - The lost footsteps - same as Planetarian but much longer and some H-scenes.

Even though Saya no Uta is 18+ it's still really good. And it's short, shorter than Katawa Shoujo.
