HLJ/Hobby Search: Earthquake.
11 Mar 2011 16:23:43

As mentioned before - the office of Good Smile Company is damaged by earthquake. So it can affect some release dates in March (hope the release of figma BGS will be in time (23rd of March).

Today Hobby Link Japan, located in Tochigi, posted a news post:

Also, in twitter, they've posted some photos of the warehouse:

DANGER for soul of figure collectors

So they will gеt many boxes scratched or something like this. They mentioned in twitter that they'll sale this in "Scratch & Dent" Section (low prices come to us).
So let's hope that the eartquake aftershocks will end soon, so they'll get some time to fix the warehouse & office & start working in normal state.

PS Amiami seems to be undamaged. There's no news from them about the earthquake.

As posted by HobbySearch:
2011/3/11 A major earthquake has hit Japan, and our office and warehouse were affected.
Operations and emails will experience some delays.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

They says that the staff is fine, so they're alright. But there are still aftershocks all over Japan. Last - Nagano M6.6

Hooooboy. This has been getting more depressing as it goes. Like how the estimated death toll by the time all is said and done is somewhere around 1,000 (it's at around 150 as of this post, but it's climbing), and how 8-12 ft. tsunamis are gonna hit pretty much every country in the southeast area of the globe (I have family in New Zealand...). Add to that the fact that the last time an earthquake nearly as strong as this hit Japan, it set off Mt. Fuji, and you have a very unpleasant recipe indeed.

And a few more tidbits that would be of interest to figure-collectors:
-Yokattaweb is in the same situation as HLJ - the staff is all safe (and that's what's important), but the warehouse is super-messy.
-HLJ said there's gonna be a lot of scratch-and-dent items next week (are those Nendoroid Kaitos I see?). Personally, I'm kind-of hoping one of those many Revoltech Mothras got banged up enough to hit the discounts.
-The Japanese stock market has crashed, meaning that the yen's getting a lot weaker. This is good news to international buyers.

But yeah, my heart goes out to all those affected by this. Although I'm pretty confident that Japan will be able to get everything back in order within a year or two (if only because they've dealt with so many earthquakes), I'm particularly concerned about the tsunamis that'll hit other countries.
