The Eagle Type Has Landed

The Eagle Type Has Landed
09 Mar 2011 04:25:17

As you've probably guessed by the photos that I posted on Saturday, I received another Busou Shinki figure in the mail. This time, the figure that I received is of Raptias, the Eagle type.

When it came to Raptias, I became interested in picking her up after Antille (or Artille, to some people including me) arrived in the mail. The urge to order her stemmed from two reasons. First, like Artille, my interest in Raptias came after seeing various fan arts of her on Pixiv. The other reason is based on the idea that she and Artille are meant to be together as a Busou Shinki soldier team (given some fan arts and the fact that they were released around the same time). So, I figured that should order Raptias sooner or later.

For this purchase, I took my time before I ordered it for a couple of reasons. The first is the fact that at the same time I began to show interest in buying her, I was also interested in ordering the samurai version of Tamaki from Final Dragon Chronicle (with her being ordered first). The second reason has to do with money. Basically, last month and this month are busy periods money wise, with a convention last month, a DVD set and another figure this month, and a number of video games (including the 3DS) in both months. Hence, I didn't want to order Raptias until I knew for sure that I had spare money (with me budgeting myself at Katsucon to ensure that I did have some extra cash). Even then, just to play it safe, I wanted to wait until Amiami was starting to get low on these figures before I ordered. Eventually, the end of February was my time to strike when it came to ordering Raptias, and after some time for my payment to be cleared, Raptias was shipped, with her arriving at my home on Saturday.

Here's a few pictures of my purchase:

We start things off with a regular standing pose for Raptias, as I was going to use the stand to pose her once I get to the pictures of in her armor.

Next, we have Raptias in a sitting position. I definitely liked this pose as was hoping this pose to be my "regular" pose when I display her. However, it became out of the question once I applied the leg armor on her.

Having learned from my Artille post, here's Raptias with her eagle armor.

Keeping up with the idea of those two being a team, here's Raptias and Artille in full armor (complete with helmets). As for why only Raptias has a stand: basically the stands that Konami makes for their figures aren't the most durable ones IMO.

(adjusts one of his Negima Figumate figures after typing the previous paragraph)

Bringing this post to an end, here's all three Konami MMS figures that I have so far.
