The past 48 hours have proven that a lot of people are attempting to count the medals one two and three. With the S.H. Figuarts line only growing in popularity and Kamen Rider OOO proving to be quite the hit, demand for both Figuarts and OOO merchandise has risen to the point where items sell out in mere minutes! It's gotten so crazy that people have no choice but to camp online retailers for when they update, in the hopes that they can snag new items as soon as they update.

The OOO Combo Change series is one such example. These Figuarts-scaled figures (that, in exchange for a decrease in articulation, can swap combos just like in the show) have proven a lot more popular than Bandai anticipated. As a result, they've been getting new batches to retailers as fast as they can, only for them to fly off the shelves equally quickly. In an attempt to actually obtain the figures as the stores updated, many fans across the globe camped until Amiami's updating times (11:00 P.M. EST and 4:00 A.M. EST). Around 11PM last night, Kamen Rider fans managed to accidentally break Amiami! There was so much refreshing and checking from across the globe that Amiami's servers were briefly knocked out, leaving them out of service for a good 20 minutes. By an unfortunate coincidence, the 11:00 PM update contained no Rider-related items. It wasn't until 4:00 AM that the window of opportunity briefly opened, restocking with the first four OCC figures as well as the first two medal sets. Both sold out within five minutes (I still can't believe I managed to snag the SaGouZo and LaToraTah OCCs).

Amiami also took this opportunity to open preorders for a reissue of four of the most popular Figuarts - Kamen Riders Kuuga (Mighty Form), Agito (Ground Form), Kabuto, and Kickhopper. Kickhopper sold out just as quickly, but the other three are still available for those seeking them.

But the madness is far from over! To go with Monday's Figuarts reissues and Tuesday's OOO restock, they plan tonight to update with new OOO merchandise - the OCC Birth and ShaUTa figures, as well as the third medal set. If you want to get a preorder in for any of these items, I have a few tips for you.
-Open up a tab on Amiami about 5 minutes before the anticipated update time (11 PM or 4 AM).
-Make sure the tab is on the tokusatsu section, or under a search for the item you want. You might miss it amongst the other items on the front page.
-Refresh once a minute or so - any more than that is just excessive, and will only help break Amiami again.
-Note that the items don't show up at the exact minute. They usually show sometime within 15-25 minutes.
-If the item doesn't show up at the 11PM update, they're probably saving it for the 4AM one. They usually put the more popular items up at the 4AM update due to there being less people online.
So, are any of you brave enough to play the night-owl game? I'm gonna pass, as I managed to get what I wanted in last night's run. Anyway, feel free to share any restock-snagging tips you may have for others or preorder-getting stories below!

Also I did notice that the internet browser, firefox doesn't go very smoothly when checking out a item on amiami, (It could be just my laptop, I don't know for sure) and I have been using another internet browser just for checking out on amiami.

I kid (sorta), Kabuto and Kickhopper are really sought after. I made a script to alert me when Kickhopper was up for preorder. Problem was I was at work and was dealing with a load of problems. By the time I got to my email half an hour later Kick was already sold out. Thankfully one went up on mandarake for sale at a decent price so I grabbed that :/ The popularity of figuarts is growing exponentially and there's people who have never watched an episode out buying these toys just for the aesthetic. Which there isn't necessarily anything wrong with that but it sucks for us fans of the actual series. More competition and all.

But yeah, most of the demand with the reissues this time seemed to be for the Kabuto duo. And if people are going to buy a toyline for the aesthetic, at least they picked a damn good toyline. Besides, it'll probably help at least some people get into KR - one of my friends watched W after seeing a picture of Figuarts Skull.
