Testing a new photo set-up

Testing a new photo set-up
07 Dec 2010 23:19:59

This post doesn't really serve any particular purpose. I was just testing a new photo set-up and wanted to know what you guys thought of it. So why not demonstrate with some Figmas and Revoltechs?

"Modo hanten, ura codo: ZA WARUDO. WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I'm not sure what this was supposed to be, but it seems that Mari is channeling some Dio Brando. For the record, I highly recommend the Figma - the entry plug's a bit unwieldy, but it's a lot of fun to mess around with.

Moving on, I attempted to see if I could capture the light-up functions of S.I.C. Stronger and Revoltech Danboard in a photo. It may just be me, but I don't think it turned out so well.

"The lights in the sky... are stars!"

And finally, some V3 WRYYYYY.

I think this setup is a bit better than my old one.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Should I continue using this photo set up, or should I go back to the old one?

Well, the one with the white background is more clear and sure it has better lighting and such. However, your old one seems more contemporary with natural lighting. More casual photos tends to give a better "if I owned this and placed it on my own shelf, desk, etc." portrayal. (I'm going to use a assumption) I mean by people are not going to display their figures in perfectly well-lit, blank background/clutter-free spots light like photos using lightboxes. Of course on the other hand blank backgrounds gives a nice clean, professional photos. Pardon me for the slight rant.

In my humble opinion though, why limit yourself with two choices? Why not go with both, depending on how you want to take your photo of course. I really...

I think I like you old set up better as it makes the harsh shadow and glare from your light sourceless obvious.
