The first design for Racing Miku, used in 2009, was a fairly predictable race-queen rendition, with the only major different being an exposed midriff and an umbrella. This year, however, they've chosen to completely redesign her into a new pit-crew uniform! But with the redesign came a new face, which is what puts me off it. It just looks so... derpy. Is anyone else put off by this, or is it just me? Regardless, Racing Miku ships in May (which is GSC-speak for "July or August").
"Go, my fishy steed! Go out and flop to the extreme!"
From NHK's (think "Japanese BBC") Newswatch 9 comes a Nendoroid of their animated mascot, the spring goddess Haru-chan! Certainly an unexpected choice, but this Nendoroid does include a fairly interesting assortment of accessories. In addition to two alternate faces (an annoyed one, and a sick one), she also includes a windswept hair piece, a carp banner to ride on (complete with a kitty clinging to it), het newspaper and spring wand, and an alternate lower-body piece for maximum carp-riding. Mikatan of GSC also mentioned "a bonus accessory that she can't show yet," but what this is remains unknown. Personally, I'm hoping for a Petit Nendoroid of NHK's original mascot, Domo-kun.
Anyway, Haru-chan is due out in April, potential delays notwithstanding. Is anyone going to preorder either Haru-chan or Racing Miku? Sound off below!
