Yo, Shelf! Double-update today, mainly because of this interesting and somewhat disappointing tidbit of news regarding the long awaited Black*Rock Shooter Animation Ver., which shipped just last week. Anyway, it seems that there's a defect affecting all of the figures shipped thus far. Notice the star on her jacket from the prototype?

Well, it turns out that the final product is missing the star!

This does leave me somewhat disappointed. Not because of the missing star (a pretty minor issue in itself), but because Good Smile Company already delayed this thing twice and yet the figure is still unfinished. I was under the impression that delays were for the purpose of preventing this kind of thing. I hope this sort of thing doesn't become a recurring issue, because with their constant delays, somewhat anti-gaijin attitude as of late, and now what seems to be an increase in QC problems, I'm beginning to become a little disillusioned with GSC.
Regardless, there is a silver lining. GSC had the dignity to 'fess up to their mistake, and will gladly offer one of two means for a solution to the problem. If you contact GSC they will give you the choice of either mailing you a star decal to apply yourself, or you can mail them your figure and they'll paint one on for you.
So how do Shelfers feel about the missing star syndrome? Disappointed, or indifferent? Sound off in the comments section!

All the methods they offer aren't good (but it's better than nothing of course) if you live far away from Japan. :P
And the second fail is that their form is in Japanese :P

About the star: I wouldn't really care. But that's probably because I'm not a BRS fan and don't like this figure too much. On the other hand, GSC for me is a trusted company, and if they'd miss a single little thing in any figure that I like, I would be greatly dissapointed.
