Figure(?) News: The First Filler Arc!?
08 Oct 2010 23:29:34
*sigh* There really wasn't anything terribly notable today in the world of figures, unless you count the 127th scantily-clad Tamaki Kousaka statue. As I've said in a couple of other posts, we're in that dry spell that comes before most releases are shipped. So I figured I'd post an article on something that isn't necessarily figure-related, but may prove interesting.
Amiami has been taking preorders for the first DVD/Blu-ray releases of many of this season's anime, including:
This hand of mine sparkles with a fabulous rage! Its roar tells me to dazzle you! ERUPTING... FABULOUS... FINGER!
Most of these DVDs ship in December, and include the first two episodes. Speaking of which, you thought international anime DVDs were expensive? Japan pays 5000 yen for two episodes! Whether that's dedication or stupidity is open to debate. And now for a bit of non-DVD stuff...
This is what happens when you put a Peep in the microwave.
Anyone here ever read Oyasumi Punpun? It's a great, if somewhat depressing, slice-of-life manga. It's drawn in a very unconventional style, including the titular Punpun being a bird-thing (not that anyone notices). Anyway, this plush is HUGE! It's as tall as an adult man. It ships in January, but would probably be super-expensive to ship...
Good luck explaining what this means to people who comment on it.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you... Houkago Tea-Time Jumps the Shark! In 3D!!
So, is anyone interested in picking up the DVDs of any of the fall shows? I really enjoyed Ika-Musume, Star Driver, and Panty & Stocking, but all three of those seem pretty likely to get dubbed releases (so I could get the entire shows for $40 or so per season).
So, this was kind of a test. Would you guys like it if I were to do an article, maybe once per week or something, on DVD releases or goofy merchandise?
