Just throwing up some pics I took with my crappy cellphone camera, it has absolutely no camera control settings so I'm trying to play with lighting to bring out the best photos as I can from this camera.

I'm actually gonna go out and get a decent material backdrop, right now it's just sheets of paper taped together.
I'm also going to try and take more pics of my Figma girls, I've been kind of neglecting them and have been heavy with the Riders, eh but I can't help it KRs are so much fun.
Quick update before I crash to wake up on time to PO Ritsu...
My Reimu arrived today.

Also I use a poster board as my backdrop.

The photos are quite presentable, you did a good job!
Ah.. I'm also eager to ask a question, but it's probably would be very impolite of me. Please, try to understand, it's not me being dissatisfied with something. It's just my common sence. You and mu597 buy lot's of figurines. Then why don't go and buy a simple camera? A cheap one from Nikon costs around $200, but is still very useful. If the lighting is fine, you'll be able to take awesome pics. It would be hard to differentiate between them and those taken by a professional camera.
Talking about the professional cameras, I know several folks who don't buy a simple camera because they're saving money for a pro. It makes sense, but to tell the truth, I recently started to think that.. well, if you wanna be 100% happy, you need to purchase both of them - a simple one and a pro. A pro camera has obvious advantages, but it also does have some weak points. It's big, occupy a lot of space and is rather heavy. You won't take it with you everywhere. Instead you can throw a cheap one in your pocket and here you are.. ready to photo everything that would be worth recording. I kind of regret now that I haven't bought a cheap Nikon camera when I was back in Japan. Oh, guys, sorry for babbling... ^^

The main reason is one you brought up, I'm waiting to be able to afford a good professional camera like a Canon EOS DSLR, though this may change since I just found out recently that some camera makers are coming out with compact cameras now that support SLR type lenses. I really want to be able to get a good lens as well as a camera so that's been part of the whole reason I don't buy one. When I bought my phone I got it for the phone and OS features primarly, not really for the camera, so I just try and get the best out of it as I can.
I may get one at the end of the year after all the Figmas that I want are out and I don't have to worry about preorders :)
