Evangelion 2.0 Petit R-Style Figures

Evangelion 2.0 Petit R-Style Figures

Long time, no post. Sorry for my absence, but this holiday season was gratuitously more hectic than what I'm accustomed to. Things have calmed down a bit thankfully. But I am now the proud owner of 15 figures, so it's time to start honoring them!

First we'll start with doing a full post on those Eva figures from Hasting's that started it all. He had bought Rei that night when we found her. By the time I went back to his house again, he had already snuck back and bought Asuka and Mari too.

I did a little photoshoot of the trio last time I was there. You'll forgive the photos. 1) My camera is a little grainy and VERY fidgety, 2) I just now figured out how to use a camera without flash, so I'm a little new to this, 3) the lighting in his room is impossible to work with. No matter where I stood, I just couldn't get my shadow out of there. Conditions were less than ideal, and I plan on getting better shots in the future. For an idea of what I had to work with:

Like my tripod? XD

Here's the trio together.

Asuka is of course the most detailed, mainly because of the hair. Strangely enough, I like her the best. She just has better motion to her, with a more interesting pose.

I think my favorite part about her is the mini angel she's sitting on. It was a little disconcerting during the setup, but she has little plugs sticking out of her butt that connect her to it. The big seam on her head kind of bothers me, but it is a trading figure, after all.

Then there's Mari. I would have preferred her to be in a plugsuit like the other two, but that's a different set. I don't have much attachment to this character, as I haven't seen anything she's in. Her pose is a bit bland, but I do like what they did with the glasses. They're not nearly as terrible as something I'd expect from trading figures. But this isn't too bad at all, save for a little trouble keeping the glare out of them for photo taking.

You can pop off her midsection and remove her skirt, for whatever that's worth. I guess it's lucky for her that she has pantyhose on.

Also had to correct her photo a bit in an image editor. That weird lean she has made me lean to try to compensate. I didn't even notice I was doing it!

Overall as a group I'm pretty fond of them. I'd like to get the other sets as well, but that might depend on if Hasting's decides to carry them. Ordering them online costs twice as much because of shipping! Like I said before, I'd like to get better pictures of them and plan to in the future. I don't think he'd be too keen on me stowing them away to my house just to take pictures of them. ^^; Patience, then. Hope you look forward to it!
