Chiaki's Opinion!

=Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica=
After hearing what an amazing anime Madoka was, I had to go see it for myself!
And now that I've finished it, I have to say that although it was good, I'm a little dissapointed. I'm no genius on anime or anything but there has been a benchmark set by all the other good anime I've seen and Madoka didn't hit the spot for me.
I was a little confused as to why I wasn't as impressed as I prepared myself to be and did a little google searching.

I stumbled upon two posts that explain the ending.
One saying that it was 'flawless'
and one that had pretty much summed up my feelings about Madoka in a 2500 word post

Both give some really interesting insights and present alot of ideas I'd missed from the anime. E.g The reference to Jesus Christ (2000 years ago removing all sons 'past, future and present') in Ep 11 where Madoka removes all despair and grief from Mahou Shoujo was aired on Good Friday! Pretty nice timing.
So It's worth a look if you have some spare time.If you've seen Endless Eight from Haruhi Suzumiya then you'd recognise the similarities between the two. Endless Eight was probably hated by most people and I can see why. But for me it allowed for a better sense of that 'continuous time loop' that seemed lacking for me in Madoka. In Endless Eight, Yuki tells Kyon she's experienced the same summer 15,532 times over. It sounded ridiculous to me at first but after some episodes of the same thing, I got to feel exactly what Yuki was experiencing.

Looking at Madoka, Homura's struggles unraveled in one episode (ep 10) and so it didn't give me the same feeling.

I could go one about so many other things such as the ending but who's actually reading this anyways

I gave it a 9/10 because despite some things that didn't work for me, it was a really unique and deep anime (really making me reflect about what I just saw for a bit).
People have opinions; you've just read mine! No anime's going to get 100% of the audience. Don't hesitate to drop a comment about how you felt about the anime. I'd really like to hear what you guys think. Seriously.
Until next time!

I dunno, words can't express my feelings about this anime. It's made of awesomeness. Madoka herself is a pretty cool guy, she's all like defeating the forces of evil and saving the world. She's just as awesome as Jesus, Isaac Clarke or Chuck Norris, eh. I liked the style, storyline, characters. Some episodes made me cry like a damn little girl, goddamn, right.
oh boy it was so good, really. Maybe that's just 'cause I rarely watch anime and stuff.
"and one that had pretty much summed up my feelings about Madoka in a 2500 word post"
wow, too long, didn't read, but holy mother of god, some people do like to argue about anime and stuff. I'm amazed.
Nice post you've made here anyway.

I apologize to the Madoka Magica fans here (especially since I myself enjoy some of the fan-related items that this series inspired), but to me, the show's plot felt more like Gen Urobuchi wanting to do his own answer to Neon Genesis Evangelion (with Madoka being a worse "central character" than Shinji, and Kyubey pretty much needing to die ASAP by the end of episode 6).

The only part I didn't really like was the ending, I guess I was expecting something more depressing where Kyuubey wins or something.
And oh god those post you liked to are ridiculous
