As some of you have known, due to the recent Yemeni Bomb Scares, the Japan Post is now restricting packages sent to the US by 453 grams (1 pound). Effective Wednesday, November 17 and the ban will stay for an "indefinite time". However, this does not affect those with JPO business accounts.
Frankly, I think Japan Post is just being too paranoid about recent events when they addressed this issue. It raises the question of how likely would terrorirsts use addresses from Japan. In fact, they often use US locations as return addresses. Fortunately, the usual retailers need not worry about the ban, but proxies and people who send goods from Japan privately are affected.
What are your thoughts on this, fellow fig fans?

I could understand if it concerned for example the European country, but Japan, it's a paranoia in the pure state.

Of course, I do agree that this ban may be troublesome for businesses trying to ship import figures overseas. Hopefully, something will be squared away so that the shipping of figures will not be a problem.
