Dragonaut - The Resonance

Summary:

The International Solarsystem Development Agency (ISDA), a government organization, is preparing to deal with Thanatos, a large object that destroyed Pluto and assumed orbit in its stead around two years ago. Three beings (dragons) arrived on Earth shortly after the destruction of Pluto. That these dragons came from Thanatos seemed to indicate that Thanatos will head toward Earth. Thus began the D-Project, a program to artificially recreate dragons in synch (resonance) with a human pilot (a Dragonaut), to be used as weapons in the inevitable war.

Jin Kamishina is the only survivor of a space shuttle accident that killed his father, mother, and little sister two years ago. No one knows how he survived, not even he himself. However, due to a media cover-up, his father, the pilot of the shuttle, has been blamed for the deaths, and Jin has been shunned by his remaining family and his peers ever since. One day, however, he witnesses a monster devouring someone, which then promptly attacks him. Just as he is about to be killed, he is rescued by a mysterious girl with superhuman powers. After the action, she introduces herself as Toa.

This anime series follows Jin Kamishina as he is both wrapped up in the conflict between Thanatos and the ISDA and drawn into the mysteries of the beings known as dragons.
